The stock market follows laws of motion
Newton's 1st law of motion in simple words, a body will not start moving until and unless an external force acts on it. Once it is set in motion, it will not stop or change its velocity until and unless some force acts upon it once more.
Likewise, A stock/index in a major long trend needs a strong reason to change its trend. Example of 4th Dec'23 NIFTY gap up post-election results of 3 states. Such major events should be kept in mind as these will work as pivots for trend continuation/trend change. If the smart money is not in panic or not exiting their positions after a long red candle, we can take cues and avoid panic.
